WHM Server & Control Panel Management
Every website ultimately sits on a server someone has to configure, secure and keep running. Learn to administer that server the way hosting providers and agencies actually do — through WHM and cPanel — and finish with NCVT's CWSA certification.
Someone has to run the server. This program makes that someone you.
Behind every hosted website, email inbox and database sits a Linux server that has to be provisioned, secured, backed up and monitored — and most hosting providers and web agencies manage that through WHM (WebHost Manager) and cPanel, the two most widely deployed hosting control panels in the world.
WHM is the server-level administration layer — where a hosting reseller or system administrator provisions accounts, defines hosting packages, configures DNS zones, and manages security and services for the entire server. cPanel is what sits underneath it, the end-user control panel each individual hosting account gets for managing its own files, email, databases and domains.
This program trains both layers together, because a real server administrator has to think in both directions — from the server room down to the individual client account, and back.
Who This Is For
Two control layers, one server.
WHM — WebHost Manager
SERVER / RESELLER LEVEL- Provisions and manages every hosting account on the server
- Defines hosting packages, resource limits & reseller privileges
- Configures DNS zones, mail routing & server-wide services
- Manages security, firewall rules & server-level backups
cPanel — Account Level
END-USER LEVEL- Individual hosting account's own file manager & FTP access
- Email account creation, webmail & autoresponders
- MySQL/MariaDB database creation & phpMyAdmin access
- One-click app installs, SSL and domain/subdomain management
Eight modules, from the command line to a certified server administrator.
Linux Server Fundamentals & Command Line
Core Linux administration skills every server task depends on.
WHM & cPanel Architecture Overview
How the two layers relate, and where each administrative task actually lives.
Server Provisioning & Initial Setup
Bringing a fresh server online and configuring it for hosting.
Account, Package & Reseller Management
Creating hosting plans and managing multiple client accounts.
DNS, Email & Domain Configuration
Zone files, mail routing and getting domains resolving correctly.
Security Hardening & Firewall Management
CSF firewall configuration, ModSecurity and SSL/AutoSSL deployment.
Backup, Restore & Disaster Recovery
Building a backup strategy that actually gets tested, not just scheduled.
Server Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Certification Prep
Diagnosing live server issues and preparing for the CWSA exam.
Finish with a credential, not just a completion certificate.
CERT
CWSA — Certified WHM Server Administrator
NCVT's server administration certification, awarded after a hands-on practical assessment covering provisioning, security hardening, DNS/email configuration and live troubleshooting — proof you can actually run a production server, not just describe how one works.
An unsecured server isn't a finished server.
CSF Firewall
ConfigServer Firewall configuration for intrusion detection and login protection.
ModSecurity & WAF Rules
Application-layer firewall rules that block common web attack patterns.
SSL / AutoSSL
Automated certificate issuance and renewal across every hosted domain.
The same stack hosting providers run in production.
What to expect before you enroll.
